Drone Pilot Hire Sydney

If you need aerial photos, video, inspection data, or any kind of drone work done in Sydney, the simplest option is to hire a pilot who turns up with the gear, flies the job, and delivers what you need.

That’s what we do.

We’re Enord UAV Solutions, based in Melrose Park in Sydney’s northwest. We provide CASA-compliant drone pilots with professional DJI equipment for photography, inspections, construction monitoring, events, and commercial aerial content across the Sydney metro area.

You tell us what you need. We handle the flight planning, the airspace compliance, the equipment, and the delivery. You get the results without touching a drone.

What Does Hiring a Drone Pilot Actually Mean?

When you hire a drone pilot in Sydney, you’re not just getting someone who can fly. You’re getting a full-service package.

That includes the pilot, the drone, the cameras, all the batteries and accessories needed for the job, CASA compliance and flight planning, risk assessment, airspace authorisation if required, and the delivery of your final files. You don’t need to own any equipment, hold any licences, or deal with any of the regulatory side.

Think of it like hiring a photographer. You don’t bring your own camera. You brief them on what you need, they turn up with the right gear, they capture the shots, and they deliver the files. Same concept, except the camera is 120 metres in the air.

Hiring a Pilot vs. Renting a Drone

This is a question we get regularly, and the answer is straightforward.

If you’re a licensed pilot with your own credentials and you just need a specific piece of equipment, dry drone hire is the better option. You rent the gear and fly it yourself.

If you don’t hold a licence, don’t own a drone, or simply don’t want to deal with the flying and compliance side, hiring a pilot is the way to go. We bring everything. You bring the brief.

Most of our clients fall into the second category. They’re property owners, real estate agents, project managers, event organisers, and business owners who need aerial content or data but have no interest in becoming a drone operator themselves.

What Our Drone Pilots Do

We’re not a production company and we’re not a marketplace. We’re a local drone operator that shows up, flies the job, and delivers what you asked for. Here’s what that looks like across the most common jobs we do in Sydney.

Aerial Photography and Video

This is the most popular reason people hire a drone pilot in Sydney. Real estate listings, property marketing, development site overviews, business promotional content, social media assets, and portfolio work.

Our pilots capture high-resolution stills and up to 5.1K video using the DJI Mavic 3 Pro. We plan the flight path around the best angles, the best light, and the shots that will actually be useful for your purpose. Sunrise and sunset golden hour shoots are available for real estate and property work where the light makes the biggest difference.

If you want your video or photo edited, let us know and we can organise it.

If you’re a real estate agent or property marketer looking specifically for aerial listing content, check out our dedicated drone photography page for more detail on packages and deliverables.

Roof and Building Inspections

Hiring a drone pilot for an inspection means you get the data without any of the access risk. No scaffolding, no ladders, no elevated work platforms.

We fly systematic inspection patterns over roofs, facades, and structures using high-resolution cameras and thermal imaging (via the DJI Mavic 3T). The result is a complete visual and thermal record of the asset’s condition.

Property owners, strata managers, insurers, and engineers all use this service. If you want the full breakdown of what our drone inspection service covers, we have a dedicated page for that.

Construction Site Monitoring

Regular aerial captures over active construction sites are one of the most practical uses for a drone pilot in Sydney. Weekly or fortnightly progress photos create a visual timeline of the build that project managers use for reporting, accountability, and compliance.

We fly scheduled visits on a recurring basis, capturing consistent angles and overview shots so you can compare progress over time. Several of our clients are PMs on residential and commercial projects across Parramatta, the Hills District, and western Sydney.

This is the kind of job where having a local pilot matters. We’re based nearby, we know the area, and we can be on site regularly without it becoming a logistics problem.

Event Coverage

Festivals, corporate events, outdoor launches, sporting events, community gatherings. Aerial footage of an event adds a dimension that ground-level cameras simply can’t capture.

We work with event organisers to plan the flight before the day, making sure we’re compliant with CASA rules around crowds and populated areas. Not every event location is flyable, so we assess the airspace and advise you honestly upfront. If we can’t safely fly at your venue, we’ll tell you before you book rather than show up and disappoint you on the day.

Commercial and Business Aerial Content

Some jobs don’t fit neatly into a category. Maybe you’re a restaurant owner who wants a cinematic flyover of your venue. Maybe you’re a landscaper who wants before-and-after aerials of a project. Maybe you’re a school that wants campus footage for a promotional video.

Whatever the brief, if it involves getting a drone in the air in Sydney and delivering professional footage, that’s what we do. Tell us the goal, and we’ll work out the best way to capture it.

How It Works — From Enquiry to Delivery

We keep the process simple because most of our clients aren’t drone people. They just need a result.

You get in touch. Call us on 0422 237 421, email info@enord.com.au, or fill out the form on our site. Tell us what you need (photos, video, inspection, monitoring), where the job is, and roughly when you need it done.

We come back with a plan and a price. Based on your brief, we’ll recommend the right drone and approach, confirm any airspace requirements, and give you a clear quote. No hidden fees. If the job needs a flight authorisation from CASA (common in parts of inner Sydney), we’ll factor in the lead time.

We fly the job. On the day, we arrive with all the equipment, set up, and fly the capture according to the plan. Most standard jobs (a property shoot, a roof inspection, a site capture) take one to two hours on site. Larger or more complex jobs may take half a day.

We deliver the files. Depending on the job, you get high-resolution photos, 4K or 5.1K video, thermal imagery, or a formal inspection report. Files are delivered digitally, usually within a few business days. If you need a faster turnaround, let us know when you book and we’ll make it happen.

What to Look for When Hiring a Drone Pilot in Sydney

There are a lot of people offering drone services in Sydney. Some are excellent. Some are a bloke with a Mavic Mini and a Gumtree listing. Here’s how to tell the difference.

CASA credentials. Any pilot flying commercially in Australia needs the right accreditation or a Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) depending on the drone weight and the type of work. Ask to see their credentials. If they can’t produce them, don’t hire them. Fines from CASA can hit the client as well as the pilot.

Insurance. A professional drone pilot carries both public liability insurance and hull insurance (covering the drone itself). If the pilot doesn’t have insurance and something goes wrong during the flight, you could be exposed. Always ask.

Equipment quality. The drone and camera setup directly affects the quality of what you get. A Mavic Mini shooting 1080p and a Mavic 3 Pro shooting 5.1K are not the same thing. Ask what equipment they use and whether they bring backups.

Local knowledge. Sydney’s airspace is complicated. A pilot who operates regularly in Sydney will already know the restricted zones, the approval processes, and the best times and angles for specific locations. Someone flying in from out of town or doing their first job in the area may not.

Communication. This one gets overlooked, but it matters. A good pilot responds quickly, explains the process clearly, gives you a straight quote, and tells you upfront if something isn’t possible. If getting a response feels like pulling teeth before the job, imagine what it’ll be like after.

Clear deliverables. Before you book, make sure you both agree on what you’re getting. How many photos? Edited or raw? Video length? Resolution? Turnaround time? Report format? Getting this sorted upfront avoids disappointment.

Quick Checklist Before You Hire

Here’s the short version. Before you book any drone pilot in Sydney, confirm:

  1. They hold valid CASA accreditation or a RePL
  2. They carry public liability and hull insurance
  3. They use professional-grade equipment and bring spares
  4. They have experience flying in the Sydney area
  5. They can explain the airspace situation at your location
  6. They give you a clear quote with defined deliverables
  7. They respond promptly and communicate clearly

Our Equipment

Every job we fly uses current-model DJI drones. The specific platform depends on what the job needs.

The DJI Mavic 3 Pro is what we use for most photography and video work. It shoots 5.1K video, gets up to 46 minutes of flight time, and delivers exceptional image quality. This is the drone behind most of our real estate, property, and promotional content.

The DJI Mavic 3T is our inspection drone. It carries an integrated thermal camera alongside a standard 4K HDR camera, which means we capture both visual and thermal data in the same flight. Roof inspections, building assessments, solar panel surveys, and any job where temperature data matters.

The DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise is built for commercial work. Up to 45 minutes of flight time and designed for mapping, large-area coverage, and repeatable flight plans. We use this for construction monitoring and larger commercial sites.

The DJI Matrice 4E is the most capable platform in our fleet. Up to 49 minutes of flight time with O4 transmission. This handles enterprise-level work across large sites and infrastructure where extended airtime and maximum reliability are essential.

All of our gear is fully insured, regularly maintained, and flight-tested between jobs. We carry spare batteries, propellers, controllers, and memory cards to every shoot. If something goes wrong with equipment mid-job, we have a backup ready.

Areas We Cover

We’re based in Melrose Park, which puts us in a strong position to cover most of Sydney quickly.

Our most common operating areas include Parramatta, Ryde, Epping, Eastwood, the Hills District, North Shore, Chatswood, and western Sydney. We also regularly work across the Northern Beaches, Inner West, eastern suburbs, Sutherland Shire, and out to the Blue Mountains and Central Coast.

Sydney has some of the most complex airspace in Australia. Large parts of the metro area fall within controlled zones around Sydney Airport, and there are additional restrictions near military airfields, helicopter routes, and major event zones. We check the airspace for every job and handle any CASA authorisation that’s required.

If you’re unsure whether a drone can fly at your location, get in touch with the address and we’ll give you a straight answer within the day.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to hire a drone pilot in Sydney? It depends on the type of work, the location, and how long the job takes. A straightforward property shoot or residential roof inspection is at the lower end. Larger commercial projects, recurring site monitoring, and jobs requiring flight authorisation cost more. Get a free quote and we’ll give you a clear number based on your specific brief.

How far in advance do I need to book? For most jobs, a few days’ notice is enough. If the location is in controlled airspace and needs a CASA flight authorisation, we’ll need more lead time. For recurring work like weekly construction captures, we set up a schedule that runs automatically.

Do you fly in all weather? No. We don’t fly in rain, high winds, or poor visibility. It’s not safe for the equipment, and the quality of the footage would be compromised. We monitor weather ahead of every booking and let you know in advance if we need to reschedule.

What qualifications do your pilots have? Our pilots hold valid CASA accreditations and licences for the work we do. We operate under full CASA compliance, carry public liability and hull insurance, and assess every job for airspace and site-specific risks.

Can you fly in the Sydney CBD or near the airport? Parts of the CBD and areas near Sydney Airport fall within controlled airspace. We’re licensed to operate in these zones, but flights require a CASA flight authorisation, which takes additional lead time. Let us know your location and we’ll confirm what’s required.

What do I actually receive after the job? It depends on the service. For photography and video work, you get high-resolution stills and/or 4K to 5.1K video files delivered digitally. For inspections, you get photos, video, thermal imagery if applicable, and optional formal reports. We agree on the deliverables before the job so there are no surprises. And if you want them edited, let us know and we can organise something.

Do I need to be on site? You don’t have to be, but it can help. Being on site means you can see the live camera feed and give direction in real time. For inspections and construction monitoring, some clients prefer to hand us the brief and let us get on with it.

Can I use the footage commercially? Yes. Everything we capture for you is yours to use. Real estate listings, social media, websites, marketing materials, reports, presentations. There are no licensing restrictions on the footage.

What’s the difference between hiring a pilot and using a drone marketplace? A marketplace connects you with a random available pilot. You’re often dealing with someone you’ve never met, with gear you haven’t verified, and with no guarantees on consistency or communication. When you hire us directly, you’re working with the same team, the same equipment, and the same standard every time.

Do you offer packages for real estate agents? Yes. If you’re an agent who needs regular aerial content for listings, we can set up a package that works for your volume and schedule. Get in touch and we’ll build something that fits.
